The Tamil Nadu Sourashtra Welfare Association – TASWA at Chennai was established in the year 2005 for the purpose of inculcating the sense of belonging and developing the spirit of ONENESS among our people belonging to the Sourashtra Community in Tamil Nadu.
AIM of TASWA
Objects :The Objectives for which the Society
is established are:
1. The Promotion of cultural, moral, mental, physical, educational,
social welfare of the Members of the Association.
2. The promotion of comradeship among the Members by providing
social amenities.
3. The imparting of useful knowledge by means of Lecture/seminars/symposiums,
meetings etc.,
4. To organize free medical camps, eye camps and blood donation
camps etc. To distribute dhotis, sarees, blankets, rugs, woolen
clothing quilts or cotton, silk, woolen or other varieties of
clothes to the poor during natural calamities like floods, cyclone,
Earth quake, Tsunami and other Periods as and when required
and decided by the Association. To open, found, establish, or
contribute to the maintenance of orphanage, dispensaries homes
for the aged and the like.
5. To pay stipends, scholarships and other aids for pursuing
studies, training or research and to institute prizes for students
in proficiency in any educational institution.
6. To open, found, establish and assist schools, colleges, hospital,
for the poor.
7. To establish, maintain and run choultries, guest/rest houses
for the benefit of public.
8. The Promotion of recreational and sports activities like
Chess, Billiards, Tennis, Cricket, etc
9. The maintenance of Reading Room and Libraries.
10. To publish periodical to propagate the objects of the Association,
moral values, social perspective, cultural identity etc.
11. To aid and improve music, dance, drama and other fine arts
12. The acquisition of properties for the promotion of the above
objects. The raising of funds by subscriptions, donations or
other means for carrying out any of the objects of the Association.
13. To promote, affiliate, take over, amalgamate or join with
association.s having similar objects.
